About this event

Join us for an inspiring virtual gathering with the Culture First community as we dive into "The Creative Act: A Way of Being" by Rick Rubin. In this unique book club session, we’ll explore Rubin’s insights on creativity as a practice, the power of mindfulness, and how these principles can transform both our personal and professional lives.

This interactive event will offer structured reflections from selected community members, as well as open discussions that connect Rubin's wisdom to our journey of creating a better world of work. Plus, we’re adding a new twist! Attendees can secure one of five special "speaker" tickets, allowing for a brief, spotlighted opportunity to share personal reflections. Each speaker will have 3-5 minutes to discuss their takeaways and connect with others in the community.

Why Attend?

  • Ignite Your Creative Spirit: Gain new perspectives on what creativity means and how it can become a powerful force in your life.
  • Challenge Conventional Thinking: This isn’t just about reading a book – it's about engaging deeply with a transformative philosophy that could reshape the way you approach your work and life.
  • Connect with Fellow Creatives: Share insights, explore new ideas, and build meaningful connections with a community of thoughtful, curious individuals.

Preparing for the Discussion:

To make the most of our time together, we encourage you to read The Creative Act by Rick Rubin, but is it not required! Even if you haven’t finished it, come ready to share or simply listen in – your insights are welcome either way.

This session will be recorded and shared afterwards on Culture Amp's YouTube channel.

Culture First principles will guide our conversation:

  • Fostering Belonging and Acceptance: Bring your unique experiences and perspectives, and honor those of others.
  • Reflecting and Growing: Look inward and consider the personal impact you can have in building a better work environment.
  • Courage to be Vulnerable: Embrace a brave space where vulnerability leads to deeper understanding.
