About this event

This is the first official book club for the Culture First community! This isn't just another book review or webinar. Our goal is to mimic an in-person book club like you'd have in your friend's living room with appetizers and beverages.  We want you all truly connect with like-minded individuals, have the chance to really dive into the concepts of the book and then talk about how to apply these concepts to your lives. On top of that, you get to meet the author!!

For this inaugural book club, we'll be discussing Friendship in the Age of Loneliness - an optimist's guide to connection written by Smiley Poswolsky. Smiley is an internationally renowned keynote speaker, workplace belonging expert, and bestselling author of three books.

After the pandemic, it’s more clear than ever that our friendships and social bonds are vital to our health and happiness. In his book, Smiley proposes a new solution for the mounting pressures of modern life: focus on your friendships. 🤗  đź‘«

This book club is not only for individuals that believe a better world of work is possible and willing to do something about it, but believe the way to do that is by creating more meaningful relationships. Together we will focus on how to apply the book’s practical habits to deepen your relationships inside and out of work.

This book club will be two hours total. The first 90 minutes will be an interactive zoom session with engaging exercises followed by a 30 minute Q&A session with the author.

Haven't read the book beforehand? Not necessary. This is an opportunity to take pieces from the book, dive deeper, and apply the most powerful ideas.
