In our inaugural gathering, we'll launch the chapter by briefly discussing the purpose and possible ways we, individually, or as a group can support and be involved. The hope is to understand community interests, define what would be most beneficial to learn about and discuss in the coming months.
Diversity & Inclusion Trainer & Consultant, Larry O'Brien will then lead the group in a discussion on How to Move from Unconscious Bias to Allyship. How can we recognize our own biases? How can we recognize bias in others and what can we do about it? Larry will share some specific actions we can take to immediately increase our own awareness and create a more inclusive environment. We'll discuss the topic as a group and of course, hope everyone will share their own thoughts and lessons learned when addressing racial, gender, and other forms of bias in society and in the workplace.
For those looking to connect after, the Brewlab team will be serving up complimentary beer, ciders, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and some of the best tacos in town!
