About this event
This virtual gathering will focus on team culture in sports and lessons that carry over to the workplace. The discussion will centre on the ways that coaches can foster a spirit of winning that accepts mistakes and setbacks as part of the performance process.
This event will provide an overview of the fundamental psychological safety questions when looking at team dynamics as promulgated by Edmondson (2021) and others (e.g., Gallo, Bresman, Mortensen, et al.). The discussion will consider the coaching methods that support team member psychological safety and what we can do to improve player (and coach) wellbeing when the pressure to perform is paramount.
Drawing on a panel of experts that includes:
Dave Sewell, Psychological Safety Expert from PsycSafe consultancy
Andrew Longley, Co-founder and CEO of Coachup Academy
Fleur Pawsey, Lecturer at the University of Canterbury and Performance Coach
Participants will be encouraged to assess the level of psychological safety observed in their workplace teams.
