About this event

Join us for a meaningful and impactful event, "Connection with Heart - Giving back to remote communities " at Local and Aesthetic Cafe. This special gathering is an opportunity for HR professionals and the broader Perth community to come together, build relationships, and support a cause that makes a significant difference in the lives of women in Australia's most remote communities.

At the heart of this event is the Happy Boxes Project, a First Nations owned and run Not for Profit which is dedicated to empowering women by providing essential hygiene and personal care products. In many remote areas, women face significant challenges in accessing basic necessities like soap, deodorant, pads, tampons, and hair care items. The Happy Boxes Project addresses these challenges by delivering boxes filled with toiletries, hygiene products, and often luxuries like makeup and skincare to women in over 90 remote communities.

This will be an inclusive, warm, and casual event for Perth community members to connect in person.

What you can expect:

  • Hear from a member of the Happy Boxes team about their mission and the impact the charity is making in remote communities.
  • Help pack the health and hygiene items in provided boxes with some hand written letters to women that will be receiving them.
  • Informal (and optional!) conversation starters throughout the evening to build relationships through storytelling, connection, and a collaborative atmosphere.
  • During the event you can also check out the gallery and amazing books and gifts at the Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health Social Enterprise store that will be open within the Local & Aesthetic venue.
  • There will be some light food and refreshments available.

This will be a perfect setting to connect in person, build relationships, and work together on a meaningful task, we can't wait to see you there!
