Join us at Immigrant Food in downtown DC for a little bit of people, culture, and gastroadvocacy!
Do Chicken & Lemongrass Dumplings sound good to you? What about Cochinita Pibil Bao Buns?
Join us at Immigrant Food, a downtown DC restaurant focused on gastroadvocacy*, for early evening snacks and drinks (view their menu here!). There are multiple locations in the DC area, but we'll be gathering at the Immigrant Food @ Planet Word,** the only museum in the country dedicated to renewing and inspiring a love of words and language.
This will be a more intimate event than our happy hours to promote deeper conversations (similar to our coffee & conversations), limited spaces (6) are available so RSVP today!
Details:
*Per the restaurant's website:
"Why is a restaurant engaging in gastroadvocacy? Because restaurants have always been the place where immigrants made a living, created community and showed off the cooking of their heritage. Today, more than ever, immigrants are the cultural fuel and the vitality of America’s food industry."
**About Planet Word:
Our CultureFirst event will be at the restaurant, but if you'd like to visit the museum beforehand, museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m (last entrance time is 1.5 hours before closing. General Admission is free with a suggested $15 donation.)
